Why Freddie cannot be Bruce Lee.... The Problem with Echoing Another...

Nature is watching you...

There Is Something in Nature That Watches the Authenticity in a human that ultimately determines how far you will succeed.

The greatest gift nature has bestowed you with is none other than...yourself.

Among the billions of individuals who have tread upon this planet, there has never been and will never be another DNA on the planet, past, present or future, that shares your exact compilation of experiences, ideas, creativity, imagination and ingenuity as yours.

Freddie sets his eyes on becoming like his childhood hero, Bruce Lee. He meticulously copies his moves and behavior and studies his philosophy as a way of honouring him and preserving tradition. Freddie is frustrated by the modern changes happening in the Martial Arts world, which he feels disrespect the old ways.

But Freddie isn't in love with martial arts. He likes martial arts. His not in love with martial arts. His in love with the idea of role modelling after his idol. He is hypnotized by the pleasure image of being a masculine superstar. Deep down, he wishes people look up to him just like people look up to his hero. Thus, he works hard to metamorphose into the next Bruce lee.

Thus, Nature begins to disrespect Freddie.

Why?

Because Nature did NOT design Freddie to be like another. The inherent source of his strength is being extinguish, deading his spirit. Originality is one's own expressiveness, artistry, vision, and insights that ultimately dies when man emulates. Old thinking keeps him trapped in not investigating innovations; his own ideas, fresh and forward-thinking ideas dies within him. Somehow, Freddie just doesn't quite possess the fluidity like Bruce Lee. He reminds you of Bruce lee. He may create some crowd-pleasing attention but not the same charismatic magnetism.

Something is missing.

Because the movements do not arrive from the heart. It comes from an orchestrated mind.

Originality is one's own expressiveness, artistry, vision, and insights that ultimately dies when man emulates.

When one follows, patterns, mimicks, emulate themselves from legends of the past, it will NOT lead to the creation of individual greatness. Such imitation blocks access to the reservoir of untapped potential.

However, if inspiration is organic. What begins as mirroring comes in the form of learning. The individual will surpass those before him, thus creating his own path to success and greatness.

The bigger the star, the less likely imitation will work.

Understand This: Imitation turns the audience completely off.

In the 1970s, Jackie Chan began his career in Hong Kong's action movie industry. After Bruce Lee's untimely death, a subgenre called Bruceploitation emerged. In this genre, filmmakers cast actors who looked like Lee to star in martial arts movies that imitated his style. Several actors had their screen names changed to variations of Lee's name, like Bruce Li and Bruce Le.

Jackie Chan himself portrayed Bruce Lee in the starring role in "New Fist of Fury."

The audiences were put off and unimpressed by these movies, which turned out to be highly unsuccessful. Understandably, they crave authenticity.

Recognising Bruce Lee remakes wasn't working. Chan embraced his own unique style. He infuses stunts and comedy, weaving in the martial art he had been formally trained in, diverging from imitating Bruce Lee's movements. At first, a director was hesitant about Chan's approach, but seeing the failure of all the other films, he decided to give Chan a chance.

The people of Hong Kong were enthralled by Jackie's movies, causing his ratings to soar, catapulting his popularity. Drawing further inspiration from Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, he ventured into experimenting new stunts and filmmaking techniques.

Jackie Chan became...Jackie Chan. His own entity. A legend in his own right.

Chan's style of southern kung fu mixed with other martial arts, slapstick comedy, and acrobatic stunts makes him one of the world's most unique individuals on the planet. Such peculiar uncommonness created electrifying performances that stirred the audiences—leaving them hungry for more.

Disgusting ineffectual weak energy has no place in this world. How did Bruce Lee himself arrive at such originality? By understanding that mirroring another, he would not have become "THE Bruce Lee."

True originality springs from a place of innocence. Curiosity, inclination, and obsession create the learning process that automatically leads to something special. If inspiration of another was the initiator, beware of settling in the former's shadow.

Man reaches his full potential once he explores all that is within him. Fear not in the how to succeed. Somehow, Someway, Nature will chase after the man deemed its worthiness. Greatness will carve its own unique path within you.

The Only One.

Of You.
