The Gen z "Plight."

The Gen z "Plight."

No matter what the current state of affairs...

No amount of adversity to his or her environment...

Can affect...

The human who possess mastery over their mind, remains untouched no matter what calamity its generation faces.

According to a recent newspaper article, Generation Z is experiencing more significant levels of stress than any other generation, especially when it comes to financial matters. High-interest rates, large university debts, an unpredictable economy, and lack of clarity about the future have led to higher rates of burnout among Gen Z workers. Additionally, the "hustle culture" has created a harmful trend that normalizes constant stress, leading to Gen Z feeling stressed almost all the time.

An illustration of several interviewees gave their case of point.

* A example of the interview went something like this.

Jason Simpleton, 23, from east London, says he feels the constant pressure to secure a good job and climb the property ladder. Having graduated with twice the amount of debt compared to his older sisters, Jason faces financial stress.

Jason saids, " I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. I am overwhelmed and burdened by student debt, which is double the amount my sisters paid. My current job is stressful, and the cost of living is high, making it difficult to afford a property. Additionally, the rental market is unpredictable. I struggle with comparing myself to others who seem to be doing better than me. My mental health has suffered, I often feel hopeless and I barely leave the house. I scheduled a yoga retreat next week to recharge my batteries."

*

Okay, so the rental market is unstable, the economy is shaky, and you have all the problems, shot at you from all angles.

So what?

The current affairs are the way they are. It is a complete myth that previous generations didn't suffer their own problems. The idea that the current state of affairs is at its worse its ever been is not true.

Let's analyze some of the things you may have yet to explore. Unnecessary baggage that may be weighing you down.

Could it be that you're fixated on the idea of "making it" whether its achieving success, fame, or owning property - all by the age of 30?

Could it be you are consciously or subconsciously comparing yourself against others, especially those flauting seemingly perfect lives on social media? And that "Alice" has a perfect body with a six-figure income, and her online pictures glorify it, leaving you to feel inadequate?

Could it be you're spending excessive time online, drowning in information overload as a cause for burnout? Might you have a digital addiction without realising it?

Could it be you're shouldering the weight of global issues like climate change while already struggling to manage your own life?

Could it be you have taken on useless self-improvement advices or techniques that you practice but go nowhere and the inconsistencies causes you to feel failure? Is the emotion of failure a normalisation for you?

Could it be you're silently comparing yourself to others around you, and endlessly striving for achievements with the secret hope for validation from your parents and peers?

If any of these factors are contributing factors, the vital force is weakened...

Jason have created emotional baggage filled with self-approval, validation, pressure, over-analyzing, over whelming information conflicting with each other.

Perhaps, if Jason took a step back and analyse where he is presently, rather than where he wishes to be, he would be better at understanding the blockages standing in his way.

His yoga retreat will do nought.

Perhaps, getting ahead prevents one from actually moving ahead.

Because getting ahead is the causality of anxiety and comparisons.

The blockages of anxiety and constant comparison paralyses consistent momentum.

And perhaps, this is the root of low self-esteem.

A true journey begins instantly when one removes themselves from the external noise and delve into the depths of their being for genuine truths.

Then, all the desired success will come in immediate reach.
