The Dip In Form: Achieving Goals.

For Athletes & Everyday Life

Around this time of the year, March, we'll begin to see a dip in form amongsts athletes - namely team sports. Reflecting on the recent conclusion of the 2023 NFL season, with the Kansas City Chiefs clinched their second consecutive Super Bowl championship, a remarkable achievement.

But winning two consecutive championships has been done before. No NFL team has won a three-peat. The anticipation of witnessing The Chiefs attempt to break this formidable record makes the upcoming season even more exciting.

In the Premier League, I have been eager in seeing how Manchester City would respond to their treble win. Would they succumb to pressure to living up to the previous season? Or would they grow complacent, easing off the throttle?

How they respond this season reveals their mentality. Claiming all three titles for the second consecutive time would be an unprecedented feat in European football.

A treble win twice in a row is Legendary

It's the aspiration EVERY football team should be aiming for !

That's the feat that etches legendary moments in history.

At the start of every year, simpletons excitedly set new goals, bouyed by the initial rush of enthusiasm that promises a fresh start.

A new beginning, a new ideal, anew hope.

But then what happens?

Suddenly the dip in form.

Anybody can start something. Few can finish.

Rarely any human see through the entire year - with their goals achieved.

For Athletes

An athlete's journey is like a tasty dish. In the beginning, it tastes marvelous. But over time, the once-delicious becomes bland and mundane. Eventually, the dish starts to blunt the tongue's favour. Beyond a certain point, the tasty dish turns into poison!

Each player starts the season with fresh legs, diet, new routine, undergoes top-notch workouts, sheds off excess weight, added muscle, explosiveness and feels invincible. In truth - Many self-sabotage in the off-season, only to pivot to extreme discipline last minute. Nonetheless, the anticipation builds as the team bond over training camp. United in their singular pursuit: this will be their defining "season."

The initial games are electrifying, with everyone firing on all cylinders.

Eventually though, one by one start to drift off.

What happened?

X amount of games in...

Suddenly the dip in form.

Why?

By February, they start to resent the practices. Injuries occur, fatigue sets in and their lifestyle becomes unbalanced. The routine becomes monotonous, with complacency creeping in. The nightlife beckons like a moth to a lightbulb. A drink here and there. A few processed foods here and there and maybe even mind-altering substances.

Then, it becomes an addiction.

An addiction spiralling out of control, hidden in secrecy. And if the entire team succumbs, the once-promised land of winning championships fades.

And if he knows his not going to win.

He'll show up to the training ground just for the paycheck.

Midway through the season, they begin to dip.

For Everyday Life

New Year's day, the goals are set. High motivation is felt, brimming with resolutions and optimism.

Your goals are like a tasty dish.

It's tasty in the beginning.

A few weeks go by,

It starts to taste bland.

After a while...

You suddenly dip.

By March, You fall back into default. Your goals lose their luster, mirroring the plight of athletes mid-season. You are confused and unclear to what you were aiming for. Another year goes by.

Continued this way, you will not achieve anything.

The crime though, does not lie in the lack of motivation or discipline or any self-improvement entrapment jargon.

Truth

It is resistance that should fear your tenacity, not the other way around. Your goals should be running for the hills as you collide into it like a firey ball meteor !

The question is...

Is your life a testament to absolute devotion?

Have you reach the extreme zenith within yourself to overturn EVERY stone to see where the answer lies?

Whether your a athlete or building a construction business,

It's all the same.

If you truly believe this year is yours for victory, every fiber of your being would resonate with that conviction. You'd live differently, your every action would reflect that belief and you'd ruthlessly purge trivialities - namely useless gossip, empty socializations and fruitless intellectual debates - leaving only the essence of purpose.

Your search would be firey intense, you'll find solutions that will ignite the path to uncovering answers, empowering you to fight through to the very end, thereby fulfilling your aspirations by the year's end. Any unattained success this year will be surpassed by wisdom, that will leapfrog you towards tangible success next year. - The wealth of knowledge gained IS the success.

The legend athlete is someone who will relentlessly seek solutions to problems whether it be loss of interest in the game, injuries or the next evolution to his greatness. The construction owner will figure out the path. He will realize the numerous desires within him are all conflicting with each other. He will tirelessly refine his search over and over again, thus, gain crystal-clear clarity. With clarity emerges like a polished gem, he will know what unessentials to eliminate.

These revelations often demand solitude, where the soul can echo its truth in the silent chambers of introspection.

Lastly, If you allow empty socializations and ingestible substances that dull your spirit, you will be massively disadvantaged to wasting your fullest potential.

It is that simple.

What precisely are you trying to achieve this year? What blockages are precisely standing in your way?

The raw ambition you feel inside means nothing unless YOU ARE FULLY IN.

The siren songs of distractions shatter the very fabric of greatness.

A part-time human will fail to command the respect of the universe.

Half-heartedness is a path to ruin.
